Wedding Bells, Queen’s Cove


The United Church at Queen's Cove was the scene of a very pretty wedding on April 5th when Joan, only daughter 6f Mr. and Mrs. George Butt became the bride of Ernest, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Avery of Long Beach. Rev. E. Parsons officiated.

The bride was given Ain marriage by her father and was attended by Betty Avery, sister of the groom; Christine Smart and Dianne Gosse were bridesmaids. The groom was assisted by George Avery, James Goobie and Lloyd Butt, brother of the bride. Mr. George Barfitt acted as master of ceremonies while Mr. Parsons presented the toast to the bride.

The reception was hold in the LOL Hall, Queen's Cove. It was a special occasion for the parents of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. George Butt, who celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary on the same day.

The groom has since returned to Labrador City where he has boon employed for the past year.


Billy Clench has finished an electrical course at the Vocational school at Clarenville and is now employed with Nfld. Hardwoods at Badger. He spent the Easter weekend at home visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Clench.

Mrs. Donald Adams has arrived home from St. John s whore she has spent throe months undergoing treatment. We arc pleased to be able to report she is very much improved.
