The town presents expansive recreational opportunities including a full range of indoor or outdoor programs consisting of youth and adult sport leagues. The facilities within the community include: ball diamonds, tennis courts, basketball courts, numerous playgrounds, an extensive trail system (in town and out of town), swimming pool, concrete skateboard / in-line skating park and arena.

Clarenville residents enjoy a variety of sport and recreation clubs including soccer, tennis, baseball, basketball, minor hockey, figure skating, and curling.

Recreational & Leisure Activities

Walking Trails
There is no better way to tune the mind than to treat the body to a long, quiet walk on a one of our walking trails.

The Bare Mountain Trail has best view of all at the summit which is 157.2 meters above sea level. The Wellness Trail is a pleasant wooded walk, and is dotted with exercise stations for those seeking a more strenuous workout. The Rotary Trail offers a peaceful diversion from the bustling town in which it is located. The trail follows a meandering stream and passes through a typical boreal forest.

Parks & Playgrounds
Elizabeth Swan Memorial Park is named after one of the provinces foremost figure skating pioneers. The park features picnic / barbecue facilities, a playground and a lighted ball field.

Throughout the Town, residents can enjoy an extensive network of playgrounds in residential areas and school settings.

Stadium
Clarenville stadium has a floor/ice surface of 85 feet by 185 feet offering a wide variety of recreation programs including ice hockey, figure skating, curling, dances, concerts, fairs and exhibitions and many other special events.

Gym/Fitness Center
Clarenville boasts two of the most versatile fitness facilities in the region. Designed as complete cardio, weight training and fitness centers, these facilities offer many programs and services ideal for advanced bodybuilding and for beginners looking just to tone up.

Ball Fields
Clarenville has 2 well-maintained softball fields, one of which is lighted. Some activities organized for these fields include minor softball, minor baseball, and recreational slo-pitch softball. Each year these fields play host to dozens of tournaments used by area residents, school teams and recreational leagues.

Bowling
When you're looking for something to do, GO BOWLING! Come visit our local bowling alley.

Bowling leagues are available for everyone: mixed, youth, seniors and adult/youth. Above all, our alley offers more value for your sports recreation dollar. The whole family can play together!

Tennis Courts
Clarenville provides you with two regulation-size public tennis courts right in the center of town. The courts are un-staffed and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Tennis court usage is free.

Skate Board Park
The Clarenville Skateboard Park has something for everyone, regardless of age or skill level. The Park was constructed to address the needs of the skateboarding community both in the local area. The hours of the Park are stated as daylight hours only. There is no admission fee to the park.

Swimming Pool
Swim a few laps, work out, or just soak away the last remnants of stress in the whirlpool.

Clubs & Organizations
Clarenville has a wide range of clubs and organizations to meet the needs of its residents. Service clubs include Rotary, Lions, and the Royal Canadian Legion. In addition, there are several clubs and organizations serving the needs of children and seniors.

Clarenville Library
The library has a wide selection of books to entice any reader, young and old. There are books to help with homework so you can get an 'A' on that next report. Come on in and see what we have to offer. The library houses public computers with Internet access, after-school programs.
