This
is the Story in a nutshell of: Walter Terrance Balsom CD. (Terry) Terry was
raised from Birth in Clarenville, Grew up and went to School but dropped out
because he was Full of Vinegar and wanted to get out on his own. At the early
age of 16 while still in Grade 10 he decided that he would join the Army. so
Nov. 1960 just before his 17 Birthday he went to see the recruiting officer.
wrote and passed the entrance exam. had to wait a couple of days for his 17
birthday in order to sign-up. and with both of his parents blessing He was off
to Camp Borden Ont. to complete his Basic training. During his 21 years of
Military service he became a professional Chef, during his Career in the
Military he traveled through-out the World and Cooked for various Heads of
State, including The Queen Mother and The Prime Minister of Canada. and Mr. Don
Jamison while He was Minister of Trade and Commerce. When he retired from the
Military he started his own catering Company, Working through-out Canada on Off
shore Oil Rigs various Mining Camps in Ontario, Alberta and BC. Managed Various
Kitchens and Restaurants, Trained First nations Personal Giving them the
Knowledge and experience to Operate and Manage their own Restaurant. When the
ripe young age of 60 years arrived he semi-retired and now applies His services
Cooking for a Child Development Centre (one meal per Day) Now spends his free
time Camping and spending time with his 13 year old daughter Terri-Lyn and also
with his Grand Kids Tanner and Hailie from His daughter Angela and Son Mike.
